How many vacancies is the police department trying to fill?

Officer Katie Hefner said...

We are currently 13 Officers down from our allowed strength of 335 Officers. Great question and thanks for asking.

Do you have to be MCLOES certified to be considered?

Officer Katie Hefner said...

You have to be certified or certifiable by March 6th, 2009. As long as your academy has graduated or you have completed the MCOLES recognition of prior training and experience session by that date, you can be considered.

Is there an age limit? My husband is interested. He's fluent in Spanish. 37 years old. Does the GRPD pay for training?

There is no age limit! GRPD is not sponsoring recruits at this time, but if he's interested in talking to representatives from some of the local Police Academies, they will be here at our open house December 6th from 2:00 to 7:00 pm.
